I Just Want To Dance The Night Away…

As Microsoft announced that Sway will soon be available for Office 365, and I don’t know much about it, I decided I’d better take a look.

I’ve seen it described as a potential Powerpoint Killer. In it’s current form, I can’t see that happening

Sway is a move away from Microsoft’s traditional products, it is 100% cloud-based, and I would suggest is aimed at challenging Prezi

It is intended to render beautifully on any device, in any browser.

To show you the kind of thing that is possible without any real effort, here is my “Fool Me Once” post converted into a Sway.

You can view it full screen by clicking on the 4 pointed “compass” which appears in the top right corner of the sway, then just scroll down.

As you can see, you can import different types of media to include in a sway. If you don’t have images prepared, sway will even search for relevant, royalty-free images using Bing.

It is currently in Preview and is being updated regularly with new functionality. You can try it out for yourself if you have a microsoft account.Just go to sway.com

When I’ve had more of a chance to play with it, I’ll give you a more considered view of Sway.
